Surf Lagoon Update - Adventure Parc Snowdonia

Surf Update 22.8.2022

Anticipation for 2022 was electric, celebrating our 7th year since opening, we were hugely excited about delivering our most ambitious year to date. Overcoming the challenges of the pandemic and the addition of our hotel, Wavegarden spa, the reimagined surfside spaces and the commitment of our incredible team; 2022 arrived with a buzz of energy and purpose to deliver world class surf, outdoor adventures and hospitality in our unrivalled location.

It is with great disappointment that we have encountered a technical challenge and mechanical failure to our Wavegarden Lagoon wave-foil. Having worked tirelessly with weekly diving and maintenance to our bespoke technology throughout the summer we are truly disappointed to have fallen on the news that our waves will not be firing for the remainder of 2022.

The scope of the repair will require a full empty of our six million gallons of fresh Welsh water, and to compound our issues we would be unlikely to refill due to the current water shortages seen throughout the UK. To minimise the impact to so many of our customers and to ensure that we can still deliver adventure and enjoyment outdoors in this late summer and autumn period we have taken the decision to continue through 2022 without pushing waves. Our team have will continue to deliver exceptional adventures and make use of our freshwater lagoon with the introduction of our new inflatable aquaparc assault course, canoes, stand up paddleboards and the creation of our Aqua Parc Pass, an all inclusive and accessible water based 2hr session for all to enjoy.

We appreciate your support and give thanks to all who have visited, surfed, explored and enjoyed our space this summer, our purpose build adrenaline indoors, woodland pods, surfside spaces, hotel, spa and restaurant will remain open.

Our commitment to having surf in Snowdonia will see a full maintenance to our usual winter period where a full refresh and repair will take place, alongside innovation and technologies that can support our continued ambition for Surf Snowdonia to be a leading global destination.
